Therapists’ Writing Lounge

Overview

The Writing Lounge is a supportive space for therapists to work through the anxieties and fantasies of writing. It works both as a co-working space to help therapists focus on their personal writings, where one will be able to find company virtually while they complete their drafts and as a creative writing circle twice a month where participants explore themes through prompts and sharing. It is a slow, community-based space that encourages writing, reflection, and connection.

Nature:

  • Coworking space: Therapists come together to complete pending work. It is a holding space that builds a sense of community.
  • Creative writing: Therapists rarely get time to engage with their creative selves. This space offers that, with rest at its core. It meets twice a month, around a theme.

What This Workshop Will Explore

Therapist Writing Lounge helps create space for:
  • Writing that often gets postponed under the weight of clinical work and daily demands
  • Developing a more regular relationship with thinking and writing
  • Staying close to questions, cases, concepts, and experiences that need language
  • Being in the holding company of peers.

Who This Is For

  • Therapists, psychoanalytic psychotherapists, counsellors, psychologists, and clinicians in related mental health fields
  • Early-career and experienced practitioners who want support in building or returning to a writing practice
  • Those working on clinical reflections, papers, reading notes, talks, teaching material, or personal-professional writing
  • Clinicians working remotely and often long for the impact and company of a team.

Important Note

The Lounge runs for three months each year, for a focused, steady and shared stretch of writing. Write to us for the 2027 dates.
